If you've used AI content tools for any length of time, you've hit the same wall.
The output is decent. Maybe even good. But it doesn't quite sound like you. There's a slightly formal tone that wasn't there before. The sentences are a little too clean. The personality got sanded off somewhere between your raw idea and the finished copy.
Then you spend 10 minutes editing the AI's work to sound like yourself. Which kind of defeats the point.
The Problem With Generic AI Content
Most AI content tools don't know anything about you. Every time you hit generate, they start from scratch. Same neutral voice. Same generic structure. Same result that could have been written for anyone.
That's fine for one-off tasks. It's a real problem if you're building a brand.
Your audience follows you because of how you sound. The way you open a story. The words you choose. Whether you're formal or casual, punchy or thoughtful, direct or conversational. That's what keeps them coming back.
When the AI sounds like the AI instead of you, you lose that.
What My Voice Does
My Voice is a new Creator-tier feature that solves this at the source.
Instead of editing AI output to sound like you, you tell Source to Social how you sound before you generate anything. Once you describe your voice, every output, every platform, every generation matches it automatically.
You do it once. It applies everywhere.
Here's how it works: go to Settings, find the My Voice box, and write a short description of your tone, style, and audience. A few sentences is enough. Then save it. From that point on, Source to Social reads your voice profile before writing a single word of output.
What to Write in Your Voice Profile
You don't need to overthink this. A good voice profile answers three questions:
- Who am I talking to?
- What's my tone?
- What do my best posts actually sound like?
A few examples of voice profiles that work well:
Fitness creator targeting busy parents: "Casual fitness coach for parents with no time. Short punchy sentences. Encouraging but not preachy. No jargon. Real talk."
B2B marketer on LinkedIn: "Marketing director speaking to other marketing leaders. Professional but not stuffy. Data-driven. I lead with a counterintuitive take, back it up, and end with a clear takeaway."
Lifestyle creator on TikTok and Instagram: "Fun, fast, a little sarcastic. My audience is 25-35 women who are trying to do a lot with limited time. I use humor to make productivity advice feel approachable, not overwhelming."
You can update your voice profile any time. If your content has evolved, update the description to match.
Why This Matters for Multi-Platform Content
The value compounds when you're pushing to multiple platforms at once.
Without My Voice, every one of those 7 outputs is generic. You pick up the hook, rewrite it to sound like you. Pick up the Instagram caption, rewrite it. Same for LinkedIn, Twitter, the email subject.
With My Voice, the hook already sounds like your hooks. The Instagram caption has your energy. The LinkedIn post has your structure. You still review everything. You might still tweak a line here and there. But you're not rebuilding your personality from scratch on every piece.
How to Turn It On
My Voice is included with the Creator plan. If you're already a Creator subscriber, it's waiting in your Settings page right now.
Go to Settings, scroll to the My Voice section, describe your tone and audience, and save. The next time you generate, your voice will be in the output.
If you're on the free tier, you can upgrade to Creator here. You get unlimited generations, unlimited YouTube transcript pulls, and My Voice all in one plan.
My Voice shipped May 2026. If you have feedback on how the outputs match your profile, send it to us at Instagram — we're @sourcetosocial.
