Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

1. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information Source to Social collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to sourcetosocial.com and all features of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Email address — when you sign up for an account or subscribe to our email list
  • Source content — the text, URLs, or product descriptions you paste into the generator. This content is sent to our AI provider to generate output. We do not store your source content beyond the current session unless you are a paid subscriber with history enabled.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, generation counts. Collected in aggregate to understand how the product is used.
  • Local storage — free-tier generation counts are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
  • Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, referring URL. Retained for a short period for security and debugging purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and improve the Service
  • To process your subscription and send billing-related emails
  • To send product updates and announcements if you have opted in
  • To respond to support requests
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and protect against abuse

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Source to Social relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — your source content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate output. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.
  • Clerk — handles account creation, authentication, and session management. Your email and account data are stored with Clerk.
  • Stripe — processes all payments. Source to Social does not store your credit card information. Stripe's handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — sends transactional and marketing emails on our behalf.
  • Vercel — hosts the application. Standard server logs and request data pass through Vercel's infrastructure.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

Source to Social uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to track free-tier usage counts. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Authentication sessions use secure cookies managed by Clerk.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@sourcetosocial.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Source to Social is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you by email if you have an account.
